What I should of been doing...

Hello Ya'all,

We are getting ready for some more snow and rain, it's going to be a chilly week. It's a good thing I have more than one project going on in the sewing room :)

I should have been making baby blocks for our Aunty quilts on the forum...

I should have been working on Isaiah's I spy quilt....and I did..

For a little bit....

But my paint chip challenge fabrics kept calling to me...

And I had a new idea pop into my head....

Wait just a minute....I was supposed to be making a table runner....so WHY did I cut my strips so big??

I guess I could make it a square table topper... sigh~

I think I'll turn it into either a wall hanging or a lap quilt, I don't have that big a table. LOL

Do you have something you should be doing, but are doing something else instead??

Have a great day.

Linking up with Freshly Pieced today.

Welcome Neighbor

Hello Everyone,

Marlene, over at Stitching by the Lake, has been getting to know her neighbors every Wednesday for the last month or so. It's fun getting to see new blogs. And today is my day. Thank you Marlene.

So here is a bit about myself.

I am a homeschooling Mommy of 4. My kids are 18, 14, 8 and 10months. Yes, a bit age gap there. Almost like starting over ;) LOL. We live on 6 acres in the mnts of California.

I started quilting 19 yrs ago, when I was pregnant with my first child. I knew that he was going to need a warm quilt, and I couldn't wait to try my hand at it. I still have that quilt, and laugh when I see all the mistakes I made. But it was loved, and kept my son warm. I have grown a lot since then. But really took off 5 yrs ago when I met up with a group of Ladies on a quilting forum. Jess then started her own forum, and I've been a member ever since. My home on the internet,  The Quilt and Needle.

Because of Jess, her lovely mom Connie, and all the other wonderful gals. I have really grown and spread my wings.I started out testing patterns for both Jess and Connie (and still do for Jess) , and have been making my own tutorials for a few years now. You'll find them at the top of the screen, under my picture. I also have done tutorials on Sew we Quilt, you'll find a list of them on the upper left side column. My most popular tutorial is how to make a Lone Star block/quilt and it's companion, how to do set-in seams. Thank you so much to all the Pinterest users out there, who have my tutes pinned!!

And soon, once my little one isn't quite so needy, I am finally going to start marketing my own patterns. I love designing quilted items and bags.

Well thats enough about me. Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoy reading my posts and the tutorials. I have had a more quiet year, this past year, but soon I'll get back into more sewing/blogging. And thanks again Marlene, this is fun!

Have a great day!

A bit of this and that..

Hello ya'all,

Hope those of you in the path of the snowstorm Nemo are doing ok out there. Pat, let me know how you are.

What am I working on? Doing the Autumn mystery quilt from December. Neat thing about the Dec mystery, is you get four quilts in one pattern. Or, put them all together for one king sized quilt. Get it here.

I'm sloooowly working on Isaiahs I spy quilt.

I'm trying to get my pattern for Pats Gems written, we'll be doing a Saturday Special on it in May.

In other news...

I got my Obol that I won off of the Sew We Quilt site. Thanks again Samm and Obol! This bowl is great, if you love your cereal crunchy and not soggy. I got the white one.

My good friend Lizzie has a new blog and a new business. She's started long arming. So if you live in her area, give her a jingle...or even if you don't and are looking for a good long armer.

And speaking of Saturday Specials. We would love for you to join us over at the Q&N forum. Our first Saturday Special will be on Feb 23rd. Read all about it here.

That's all for today folks....have a great one.
